Samuel Logan Mobley, 88, formerly of Ashland, passed away at The Holy Cross Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale on November 2, 2018. He was born in Rose Dale, Kentucky on July 1, 1930 to the late Orville and Letha Kitchen Mobley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son
Mark Logan Mobley and two brothers, James Lonny Mobley and William “Bill” Mobley.
He was a retired electrician with Armco Steel Corporation and served in the Korean conflict in the United States Army.
He is survived by his daughter Deborah Gill and husband Bobby of Margate, Florida; Granddaughters Jessica Zarakas of Florida, Stephanie Mobley and Chandra Mobley, both of Ironton, OH; eleven great grandchildren and a sister Imogene Sparks of Michigan.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 8th at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel at 11:00 AM with Chaplain Jimm Smedley officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM.
