Sandra Kay Fitch Tilton

Sandra Kay Fitch Tilton, 69, departed this life on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown, South Carolina with her children and friends by her side.

Mrs. Tilton was born October 11, 1947 in Ashland, KY the daughter of the late James Fitch, Jr. and Norma Elizabeth Williamson Fitch. She was a graduate of Ashland Community College in 1968. Mrs. Tilton began her banking career in the late 1960’s with Third National Bank and in 1976 transferred to the Trust Department and became the head of trust operations. In 1989, she was hired by Kentucky Bank and Trust where she served as Vice President and Head of Bank Operations. She later became Senior Vice President and Secretary of the Board. March 4, 2003 she became the recipient of the Honorary Kentucky Colonel award. In 2004, Mrs. Tilton joined Palmetto Heritage Bank and Trust during its formation where she served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer. In 2016 she became a member of the holding company for Palmetto Heritage Bank & Trust.

She leaves behind: two children, David B. Tilton and Chellisa D. Grimes; two grandchildren, Chris Tilton and Darian Grimes; and two brothers, James (Karen) Fitch III and Larry (Mary Beth) Fitch.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland with Pastor Tony Daniels officiating. Entombment will be in the Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017, at the funeral home.
