Sheila Jane Federer

March 7, 1944 ~ February 3, 2021 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Tribute

It is with great sadness that the family of Sheila Jane Federer (Scarberry) announce her passing on February 3, 2021. Janie, as she was called by all, was 76 years old and born on March 7, 1944 in West Virginia. She lived the last 45 years in Cannonsburg and is lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years, Billy Joe Federer.
Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Denver and Vesta Collins Scarberry and her precious grandson Ben Flannery.
Janie was from a large loving family of 10 children, the late Junior Scarberry, Richard Scarberry, Stevie Scarberry, Janet Keyser, Francis Fry, Deloris Lily and Debbie Fry. She is survived by her sister Linda (Art) Green and Curtis Scarberry of Florida.
Even though she was taken too soon, she lived her life surrounded by people who adored her. Her three daughters and her favorite son-in-laws. Robin (David) Flannery, Karen (Bobby) Evans and Michelle (Steve) Kelly. She was also the beloved Mamaw of 5 grandchildren and the heart of her world. Billy (Brianna) Flannery, Faith (Brandon) Louthan, First Lieutenant Blake (Keriann) Kelly United States Army, and Brayden Kelly. She was loved by many nieces and nephews who loved their “Aunt Jane” dearly.
Janie’s laugh was contagious and filled a room wherever she was. She loved her close friends deeply. She started an exercise group with “her girls” for fellowship and friendship which was a blessing to many. Janie will be dearly missed by her friends. She was kind to all, if she met a stranger they were soon her friend. If you were lucky enough to sit at her dinner table and share her famous biscuits, you felt the warmth of her love.
Due to COVID, the private family service will be led by Pastor Bruce Lee. She will be laid to rest at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East. There will be a Celebration of Life, at a later time.
In lieu of flowers the family would ask donations to be sent to her little church on the hill, that she loved very much, as she moves on to sing in the heavenly choir. Cannonsburg Trinity UMC, 11620 Midland Trail Road, Ashland, KY 41102. To share a memory of Janie or to express a condolence to the family, please visit www.steenfuneralhome.com
