Shelba Jean Barnett, 80, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility.
She was born on February 5, 1939, in Ironton, Ohio, a daughter of the late James C. and Goldie Ackerson Meyers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Kenneth B. Barnett in 2003; and two brothers, Larry Meyers and Bill Meyers.
Shelba was a 40 year member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and retired from Canteen Food Service following many years of service.
Survivors include two sons, Tim (Connie) Barnett and Chris (Dana) Barnett of Ashland; grandchildren, Mike (Brandi) Barnett, Kelly (Michael) Murphy, Whitney (Matthew) Steele, Sarah (Jesse) Barnett and Abigail (Larry) Smith; great grandchildren, Logan and Noah Murphy, Wyatt and Owen Steele, Phoenix and Briar Lowery, Sailor Smith and two great grandchildren on the way.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm Thursday, October 3, 2019, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel with Pastor Dicky Tiller and Pastor Jason Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be held from 11 am until 1 pm Thursday, at the funeral home.
