Teresa Johnson Gibson

Teresa Johnson Gibson, 50, of Ashland, was born June 2, 1971 in Ashland, Kentucky and returned to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, while under the care of Community Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Judith Ann Bailey Johnson in 1992.
Teresa was baptized and received Christ as a child at Wayside Baptist Church. She was the former Family Readiness Leader for 201st Engineer Battalion U.S. Army Nation Guard. She worked for several years as a sales associate at Kmart in Ashland and the Dollar General Store in Westwood. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, cooking and was known for making her hard crack candy.
Those left to cherish her memory include her father, Ronald H. Johnson and mother by love, Dorothy; a son, Austin Fannin (Alex Virginia Fields); two daughters, Judy Moore (Joshua Becker) and Carol Moore (Gary Peet); brother, Norman Johnson (Vanessa); sisters, Judi Ann “Annie” Johnson, Jillanna Johnson Gillum (Lional) and Jonna Johnson (John)Allen; birth siblings, Tracie Feeney, Tammi Moffatt and Brittany Brewer; special friend, Becki Potter; a beloved grandson, Jaxson Trace Allen, who loved his “Memaw Teresa”; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
A celebration of Teresa’s life will begin at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2021 at STEEN FUNERAL HOME CENTRAL AVENUE CHAPEL with words of comfort provided by Chaplain Jimm Smedley.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
