Teresa Lynn May

Teresa Lynn May, 63, of Flatwoods, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington after a courageous battle with liver disease. Teresa was born Dec. 4, 1954 in Ashland a daughter of the late James A. and Lillie Mae Gunnels Hayes.
Teresa attended the Greenup First Baptist Church and was an avid UK Basketball fan. She participated and was an advocate for the Relay For Life with the American Cancer Society as a cancer survivor. She was formerly employed with Ashland Oil in Marketing and retired as a Training Specialist with Marathon Petroleum. She was very active and enjoyed spending time with her former co-workers in the Forum Club which is for retirees and active employees of Marathon. Most importantly was her love as a mother and grandmother to her sons and grandsons.
Survivors include her sons Jeremy May and Noah May both of Flatwoods, her sister Glenna James and husband Jay of Ashland, her adoring grandsons Mason May and Jackson May, her K-9 companion Bailey and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th St. Chapel by Rev. Gary Dheel and Dr. Thomas J. Melvin. Entombment will follow in the Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
