Thelma Owens

Thelma Jeanette Owens, of Ashland, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 5, 2010. She was 89. Thelma was born December 10, 1931 in Catlettsburg, KY to the late William and Mary Emily Owens. She was preceded in death by her sisters Dolores Grubb, Betty Felty and Joan Cole.
She is survived by her sister Carol Opell of Catlettsburg, KY, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and her beloved cat Grey.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers Janice Miller and Mary Salyers for their excellent care, compassion and friendship.
Thelma was a 1949 graduate of Boyd County High School. She was a retired nurse, having worked in doctors’ offices in Ashland and Morehead.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Steen Funeral Home Central Chapel. Pastor Kevin Meenach will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 - 11 a.m. Saturday the funeral home. Mask and social distancing will be required.
