Thomas Allen Hilgendorf, 71, of Ashland, died peacefully Saturday morning, November 7, 2020, at his residence.

He was born July 13, 1949 in Port Washington, Wisconsin, a son of Gloria Klug Hilgendorf of Cedarburg, WI and the late Norvin HIlgendorf. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Hilgendorf.

Tom was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ashland. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for 31 years for Thrift Drug Store, was a small business owner and retired from G.E. Transportation. He was a train enthusiast and he enjoyed many extensive trips with family and friends while traveling the railways.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife Pamela Burt Hilgendorf of Ashland; two daughters, Meagan Pinkston (Chris) of Ashland; Madison Hilgendorf of Seattle, WA; granddaughter, Allie Pinkston of Ashland; brother, Robert Hilgendorf (Nancy) of Germantown, WI; sister in law, Cindy Hilgendorf of Hubertus, WI; and his beloved fur baby, Sheldon.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel with Pastor Mark A. Kloha officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East where military honors will be provided by the United States Army and American Legion Kenova Post 93.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

Due to the ongoing Covid19 pandemic, masks and social distancing will be required.
