Thomas G. Lyons

Thomas G. Lyons, 74, of Oak Hill, OH, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Buckeye Forest at Jackson. Thomas was born September 10, 1948 in Ashland, KY, a son of the late James E. and Violet Louise Kazee Lyons. In addition to his parents, a brother Melvin Lyons and a sister Vickie G. Lyons also preceded him in death.
Thomas was raised in Ashland. He was a 1968 graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School, served in the ROTC and was a proud team member of the 1967 Ashland Tomcat State Football Champions. Soon after high school, he purchased a farm in Oak Hill, OH where he lived and raised his family. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oak Hill and worked as a Journeyman wireman with I.B.E.W. Local 317 Huntington, WV.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons Lance Lyons and wife Stephanie of Oak Hill, OH, Lafe Lyons of Jackson, OH, his daughters Rachel Garrett and husband Chase of Lucasville, OH, Melissa Lyons of Florida, brothers Leslie (Rhonda) Lyons of Ashland, Troy (Thiago) Lyons of Lexington, sisters Julie (Frank) Edwards of Ashland, Kathy (Maureen) Lyons of Lexington, grandchildren Levi, Jacob, Bralee, Hailee, Hunter and Matthew. Addition survivors include many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel by Pastor Cline Rawlins. Burial will be in the family plot at Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be prior to services beginning at 12:00 noon on Wednesday at the funeral home.
