Tina Hill Johnson, 64, of Ashland, passed away Saturday morning, May 22, 2021 at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Tina was born July 19, 1956, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Harold Dean and Helen Harmon Hill. In addition to her parents, Tina was preceded in death by a daughter Megan Rhea Johnson and her step mother Kathy Hill.
Tina was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Ashland. After graduating high school and college, Tina chose a career in education teaching world history at Greenup County High School for 20 years.
Over many years, Tina taught many rifle and majorette teams. She was an accomplished baton twirler, using that as her talent to win Miss Ashland. She was fun-loving and loved to read and shop.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son David Maxwell Johnson of Lexington, KY, sisters Deanna Ballard and husband Andrew of Proctorville, OH, Melanie Sennett and husband Larry of Lexington, KY, step sister Melissa (Jerry) Slone of Milton, WV, the father of their children David L. Johnson of Ashland, several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the STEEN FUNERAL HOME CENTRAL AVENUE CHAPEL by Larry Sivis. Burial will be in the Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00noon till 1:00pm at the funeral home.
