Urban Irvin Pereira, hard-working chef, restaurant owner and inspirational figure to many, passed away on June 20th, 2021 after 65 years of life.
Born in Trinidad and Tobago in 1955 and raised by his late parents Adina and Irvin Pereira, Irvin grew up with his beloved siblings Glen, Michael, Cecil, Judy Anita and his treasured late brother Dennis. Irvin would learn how to bake as he got older, and eventually he would move to New Jersey with dreams of becoming a pastry chef at an upscale pastry shop. Among other endeavors, Irvin's extreme dedication and drive led him to opening his own catering company, Icey Pastry Productions in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he was a well-known wedding cake artist and caterer. He became the first Certified Executive Pastry Chef in the Myrtle Beach area. Irvin shared his knowledge by teaching at the local community college and other institutions.
After moving to Ashland, Kentucky, Irvin opened Blazer's Restaurant and Bakery where he won many awards, had great times, and made wonderful friends.
Besides his siblings, Irvin is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jessica; beloved children: Adrianna, Alexander, Angelyn, Austin, and many many cherished nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers.
