Vanderbilt Massey Jr.

Vanderbilt Massey, Jr., 47, of South Point, Ohio, passed away Friday morning, May 19, 2023, in King’s Daughters Medical Center.

He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on November 5, 1975, to Vanderbilt Massey, Sr. of Pittsburgh, PA, and the late Hafeeza Bolden.

Vanderbilt was an avid fisherman and worked feeding the homeless through CARES.

In addition to his father, survivors include five sons, Steffon Coleman and wife, Stacey of Ashland, KY; Paul Taylor of Ironton, OH, Jair Jackson of Greenup, KY, Jherrell Jackson and wife Aimee of Greenup, KY, and Stephen Daniels of Ashland, KY; brother, Andrew Massey and wife, Ashlee of Ashland, KY; twin sisters, Jaquala Scott and Jaquanda Scott of Pittsburgh, PA; three grandchildren, Deja Coleman, Mya Coleman and Kingston Avery Jackson. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; special friend, Josey Dillard; and a host of extended family members and Sky Lake family.

Homegoing services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Christ Temple Church with District Elder J.D. Crockrel officiating. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from Noon until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, at the church.
