Velma Louise Blair Daniel

Velma L. Daniel, 76, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019, in King’s Daughters Medical Center.

She was born July 26, 1943, in Richmond, Virginia, a daughter of the late Russell and Hazel Osborne Blair. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lloyd Mason Daniel in 2007; and a brother, Gordon Blair.

Velma was of the Baptist faith and retired after many years of service from Food Fair in Ashland. She enjoyed gardening, working puzzles, fishing, playing cards with her family, and was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.

Those left to cherish her memory include, three daughters, Lisa Walters, Kathy (Tony) Adkins and Hazel McCoy all of Ashland; grandchildren, Skyler Walters, Shannon Adkins, Megan Adkins, Shelly McCoy , Josh McCoy, Joslynn Poplin and Matt Roberts; brothers, Richard (Sandy) Blair of Flatwoods, KY, and Rolla (Pat) Blair of Huntington, IN; sister, Barbara (Tom) Harris of Huntington, IN; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel with Pastor Danny Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral Home.
