Vicki Jo Aleshire

Vicki Jo Aleshire, 57, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. Vicki was born September 8, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Jo Ann Holbrook Aleshire. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother Harold Aleshire, Jr.
Vicki attended the New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene in Ashland and served in many capacities including the church bulletin ministry. She graduated from Boyd County High School and received her bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Morehead State University. She once interviewed with the New York Times for a position as a journalist.
Vicki was a people person. She loved helping people and volunteered her time with C.A.R.E.S. and River City Harvest. She was very active with the Summit Elementary PTA and played an important part in the purchase and installation of the school playground.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children that she adored David Yost, Melissa Yost and Rachel Yost, dear friends Tonya and Tony Caines and host of extended family and friends that she deeply loved.
Funeral services will be held 11:30am Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th St. Chapel by Kenny Martin. Entombment will follow in the Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 10:00am till service time at 11:30 Saturday at the funeral home.
