William Avery Caskey

William Avery Caskey, 74, of Winchester, KY formerly of Catlettsburg, passed away Monday, Dec. 25, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Mr. Caskey was born Aug. 12, 1943 in Ashland, KY, a son of the late Lester and Velta Caskey. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Gladys Marie Hall Caskey, daughters Janet Todd and Tina Marie Caskey, a sister Sue Caskey and a brother Ronald Caskey. Mr. Caskey was a US Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He also served with the KY National Guard. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be deeply missed by those who knew him. Survivors include his son Avery Caskey and wife Whitney of Flemingsburg, KY, daughters Angela Wallace and husband Joseph of Winchester, KY, Lisa Laney and husband Mike of Catlettsburg, Billie JoAnn Caskey of Louisville, KY, sisters Janet Dixon of Westwood, Shirley Caskey of Ashland, grandchildren Heather, Curtis, Megan, Matthew, Justin, Danielle, Josh, Isaac, Alyssa, Shelby, Taylor, Cadyn, Maddie, Hunter, Harley, Hailey, five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel by Pastor Jeff Canfield. Burial with military honors will be in the Ashland Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm and from 12 noon till service time Thursday at the funeral home.
