William Edward “Bill” Clemons, 86, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Bill was born July 20, 1935 In Ashland, a son of the late Everett and Verna Forson Clemons. His wife Reba Maudine Wellman Clemons and his brother Paul Joseph Clemons preceded him in death.
Bill gave his life to the Lord as a young man. Centenary United Methodist Church in Ashland was where he attended church and married the love of his life.
Bill retired from the maintenance department of the former Semet Solvay Armco Steel Coke Plant after 40 years of service. He served his country honorably with the United States Navy as an Airman during the Korean War from 1954 thru 1956. He attended air school in Oklahoma and was stationed in Alameda, California serving on the Essex-Class Aircraft Carrier USS Philippine Sea CVS-47.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons Ron Clemons and Phillip Clemons, his daughter Susan (Paul) Reynolds, grandchildren Amber (Brian) Freeman, Sean Clemons, Garred (Amanda) Clemons, Whitney (Evan) Kiefer, Daniel (Cassidy) Clemons, Rebecca Clemons, Rachel (Jason) Howard, great grandchildren Wyatt Clemons, Harper Clemons, Willa Kiefer, Sadie Kiefer, Bryar Clemons, Orian Bishop, Ivan Bishop, Tyler Tate, Larson Howard and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the STEEN FUNERAL HOME CENTRAL AVENUE CHAPEL by Chaplain Jimm Smedley. American Legion Post 93 and the US Navy will conclude services with military honors at Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00pm.
