William Harold “Bill” “Dragon” Hawk, 73, of Catlettsburg, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 in UK Medical Center.
He was born December 1, 1945, in Kenova, WV, a son of the late Raymond Dewey and Hazel Preston Hawk. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Oliver Dewey Hawk and two sisters, Geneva Coldiron and Ruth Brown.
Bill was a 1964 graduate of Thomas R. Brown High School. He graduated from the University of Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky University and attended Mississippi State.
He taught Chemistry and Physics at Paul Blazer High School, served as Assistant Principal in Catlettsburg and retired as a Federal Probation Officer. He enjoyed boating, fishing and golfing.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Connie Caldwell Hawk of Catlettsburg; sister, Susan Friley of Ashland; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Per Bill’s request, there will be a graveside service held at 5 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019, at Catlettsburg Cemetery Section R. with Pastor Marty Gute officiating.
