Wilma Jean Roberts

Wilma Jean Roberts, 80, of Ashland, went to her Heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, May 3, 2017. She peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family at Carter Nursing & Rehab. Wilma was born September 5, 1936 in Ashland, a daughter of the late Levi Edward and Clara Bloomfield Troyer. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by brothers, Edward Troyer and Paul David Troyer.

Wilma was a lifelong resident of Ashland. She was a graduate of Ashland High School and the Ashland Business College. Wilma attended Heritage Freewill Baptist Church. She retired from Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital after 23 years as a Medical Transcriptionist in the Laboratory Department and also worked from home after retirement. She was also a loving homemaker to her family.

Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years Lonnie William Roberts, Sr. of Ashland, son Dr. L. William Roberts, Jr. and his wife Judy of Mt. Sterling, KY, daughter Kathy Marie Castle and husband Bill of Ashland, grandchildren Jenifer Steger, Stephanie (Michael) Bolen, Kimberly Roberts Bates, step-grandchildren Crystal Stubblefield, Sunny Castle, great grandchildren Will, Ford, Annie, John Ryan, Liam, Paige, Elizabeth, Beckham, Briggs, step great grandchildren Alli, Brook, Trinity, Hunter and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel by Rev. Ed Cook. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be prior to the service on Saturday from 12 Noon till 2:00pm at the funeral home
