Zack Phillips, of Rush, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Zack was born in Pike County, KY on July 12, 1944, the son of the late William Kerry and Gracie Williamson Phillips.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: William Paul "Buster" Phillips, Albert Sidney Phillips, Franklin Phillips, and Ruey Phillips; six sisters: Mae Thacker, June Meade, Billie Justice, Hilda Phillips, Beulah Phillips, and Margaret Phillips as well as an infant sibling at birth.
He was a retired electrician with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Huntington Local 342. He graduated from Barber College and owned and operated a barbershop in Catlettsburg for many years.
Zack is survived by two daughters: Joanne (Brian) McCormick of Ashland and Cathy Phillips of Rush; and a son Ryan Phillips of Nashville. He is also survived by a brother, Edgar Phillips, of Catlettsburg and a sister, Mildred Justice of Hardy.
Funeral services for Zack will be conducted on Friday, April 5, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland. Burial will be at Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
