Esta Jayne Conley

Esta Jayne “Shug” Conley, 92, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, passed away Monday morning, July 21, 2014 at the Community Hospice Care Center.  She was born in Floyd County, Kentucky on June 9, 1922 to the late Hiram Morgan Stumbo and Ella Sizemore Stumbo Hamilton.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her stepfather Duvall Hamilton, her loving husband of 74 years, Herman Conley in 2012, two brothers Garland and Clifford Hamilton and a sister Sarah Ellen Storie.
She was a member of Meade Station Church of God and was a loving and devoted homemaker.
She is survived by sons Herman Conley, Jr. (Nancy) of Madisonville, Ky., and Roger D. Conley (Lavina) of Flatwoods, Ky.; a daughter Sharon F. Compton of Ashland, Ky.; Ten grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel at 1:00 PM and will be officiated by James Stephens.  A private burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM.
