Ruth Elswick Kinner

Ruth Elswick Kinner, 97, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away at Kings Daughters’ Medical Center on July 10, 2014.   She was born on February 3, 1917 in Catlettsburg, Kentucky to the late Denver and Susan Ross Elswick.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Russell D. Kinner in 1987, a sister Pauline E. Kennard, a brother Billy Carson Elswick and her son-in-law Kenley E. Dobyns.  
Ruth was a graduate of Ashland Sr. High School, class of 1936 and was a member of First United Methodist Church.  She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother and loved to travel.  
She is survived by her daughters Janet K. Dobyns and Josette Gibson , both of Ashland, Ky.;  a special niece, Judith K. Little, also of Ashland, Ky.;  a granddaughter Diana D. Allen  and husband Rodney of Huntington, WV; and a great grandson Austin E. Allen, also of Huntington, WV.  
Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum with Chaplain Randy Tate officiating.  Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery.   The family will receive friends at the mausoleum chapel on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM.
