Janet S. Gothard

Janet Stewart Gothard, 63, of Flatwoods, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015. Janet was born Sept. 1, 1951, in Greenup County, KY, a daughter of the late Ellis and Juanita Caudill Stewart.
Janet attended the Livingstone Baptist Church in Barboursville, WV and the Flatwoods Church of Christ. She graduated from Russell High School and worked for several companies in the area. She was a crane operator with CSX at the Raceland Car Shop and the Locomotive Shop in Huntington and worked as a Laborer and Operator at the former Reclamation Plant in Barboursville. She also was an operator with Kentucky Electric Steel.
Survivors include her husband John Lee Gothard of Flatwoods, her son John Tyler Gothard of Flatwoods, brothers, Denver Stewart of Westwood and Charlie Stewart of Russell, sister Barbara Stewart of Flatwoods, nephews, Denver Lee Stewart, Chris Stewart, Adam Stewart, Jimbo Reeves and niece Julie Reeves. Janet also leaves behind a host of extended family, friends and close neighbors all of whom will mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel by Pastor Jon Rule. Burial will follow the service at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, WV. Visitation for friends and family will be Thursday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
