My condolences to Marshall's family. I met Marshall when I worked at Vicksburg National Military Park in Mississippi. I was looking for someone to make a Napoleon. He made it the way I wanted it. He explained the process and also about the construction of the carriage. I was so proud of that gun and the friendship of Marshall. Then I got into ductile iron carriages, and he was the man. During the years we worked together he took that Napoleon and carriage back to KY and polished it and made repairs to the carriage, free. Cannons were my connection to Marshall. I didn't always stay in contact with him, as I just found out about his passing today. I was proud to know him, he was a good man.

I was informed that my childhood best friend passed away a few days ago and wasn't quite sure what to say. Marshall and I were born one year and one day apart and were as close as brothers while attending Coles school. We formed a band while in the 7th grade and learned two songs. I played drums and Marshall had an electric guitar. I used to spend the night at his place and we would explore the Funeral Home and spend hours imagining ourselves as famous rock stars. I didn't see Marshall again until later in life but we both grew up loving the same things, animals, motorcycles, horses, and fast car just to name a few. He took over the family business and expanded his interests in life. I sought a life in front of the camera as a TV news journalist and public speaker. Marshall will always be my best friend and I will miss him terribly. I only wish we had stayed in touch and remained as close as we were when we were in the 7th grade. I am so proud of the man he became and my heart breaks for his family. God bless you all and know that one day we will all be reunited in GODs kingdom. Farewell for now Marshall. I will see you again.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Marshall's passing. He was good friends with my parents, and directed both of their funerals. I got to see him in his shop several years ago, and he spoke with enthusiasm about his passion for making replica artillery pieces. He was a very classy guy. Though he'll be missed by many, he leaves us with many warm memories.

Very sad news. My condolences to his family.
Marshall was one of my very first friends. We were in the 1st-3rd grades together at Crabbe School. We moved away and the rest is just time.
Whenever friends were mentioned at any time I always thought of him and our friend Vernon.
I am glad that due to the internet that we did have a chance to chat with each other.
Again you have my sincerest condolences. God bless and comfort you all.

Marshall and I knew each other from our involvement in Boy Scout Troop 148 at First Methodist and our time playing in the Coles Junior High band. We had fun camping, hiking and exploring at summer camp. We grew up together. He was a great guy with a funny sense of humor. He will be missed. Rest in Peace Marshall. Until we meet again.
