Steven Andrew Rose

Steven Andrew Rose, 68, of Catlettsburg, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
He was born January 27, 1949, in Ashland a son of the late Oscar Rose and Betty Hackworth Rose Fuller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brad David Rose in 2000; and a sister, Mary Alice Mangold.
Steve was a longtime member of Chadwick’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church and was a 1968 graduate of Boyd County High School. He worked for 21 years as a licensed Electrician and was a self-employed truck driver. He served honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam and was a devoted family man.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Sandra Vanderpool Rose of Catlettsburg; daughter, Melissa Rose (Bradley) Justice of Ashland; brothers, James Cecil (Ann) Rose of North Carolina, and Charles Russell Fuller of West Virginia; sister, Amy (Gary) McCormick of Ashland; grandchildren, Jordan Rose (Zachary) Morris, Jaiden Nicole Ellis, Jacob Cade Ellis, Bradley (Shianne) Justice, Blake Justice and Chloe, Carleigh, and Marlee Justice; and great grandchildren, Carson Ryan Morris, Brayden Justice and Landen Justice.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel with Pastor Ron Riley officiating. Burial will follow at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens where military honors will be provided by the American Legion Kenova Post 93.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
